Abolitionist movement was organized by moral rage mostly by middle-class people. As the slavery was seen as a moral offence, abolitionists looked at the phenomena of slavery from the point of view of Laws of God. Abolitionists, mostly from the North of America, saw the slavery as a threat. They consider that Southern group by supporting slavery wanted to extend it to the North. Abolitionists stated that “Slave Power threat” an agreement between southern slaveholders is a hazard for Free State and civil liberties as well as the way to control the policies of federal government and establishment of aristocratic way of rule based on slave economy. The scheme of the Southern slavery supports had three stage plan according to abolitionists: to start slave trade, to extend slavery through the country and to make free white people virtual slaves of the aristocracy. In support to the movement, William Lloyd start publishing The Liberator, a weekly newspaper in which the moral tone of the movement was set. The strongest voice of the abolitionist movement is considered to be Harriet Beecher Stowe the author of Uncle Tom’s Cabin. The book announced the voices of black people and became very popular in 19th century.
