History of Cell Phones Term Papers
In 1947 researchers and scientists started to consider the possibility of mobile car phones. However, the companies were discouraged from investing money into research projects by the decision of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to set the limit on the amount of radio frequencies available for cell phone use. In 1968, this decision was reconsidered by the FCC, and the competition to produce the first cell phone system in the USA began. The first patent for such a system was given to Motorola Company in October 1973. In 1975, Bell System was granted the permission to begin trials. Finally, in July 1978, the first mobile phone system, Advanced Mobile Phone System, began operation in the USA. The next twenty years the mobile companies all over the world participated in the mobile technology races. When the technology was mastered and dead tone areas were practically eliminated, these companies started experimenting with new colors, phone sizes, number of accessories available, and buying offers. The potential customers were promised the ability to momentarily connect with whomever they wanted, provided that both parties had a mobile phone, which was switched on. The emergence of cell phones changed the life of Americans forever.
