History of Dell Research Papers
Dell Computer Corporation was founded in 1984 by Michael Dell, and was incorporated in at first in Texas with headquarters in Round Rock, and three years later it was moved to Delaware. The company centred on the sales of its personal computer models to small and medium size business buyers, government agencies, educational institutions, and individual consumers. In the past few years Dell Corporation has changed its marketing strategy and expanded manufacturing to not only personal computer systems and has become a top supplier of Internet technology. In 1999 the corporation generated over $25 billion, mostly from businesses and government sales. Dell Computer Corporation has experienced incredible propliferation in both revenue and share of its targeted market since 1998. The favourable trend continued in fiscal year 2000 when the company saw its net revenue escalation another 38% over the preceding year to over $25 billion. It should be noted that these increases happened at a time when the market became more competitive because of manufacturing process improvements and lowered prices on individual units. Dell owed its jump in net revenue mostly to increases in the number of sold items.
